How much is that doggy in the window

Saw this little puppy while walking during my lunch break around Snider Plaza. Apparently there's a pet boutique that opened up which specializes in teacup and toy breeds. A friend and I stopped in out of curiosity. She asked if the dog was full-grown. It's still a puppy but won't get much bigger than it is now.

My friend asked if she could hold it. The sales girl said that she'd have to sign a release which I'm sure says one has to pay for the dog or damages to the dog if it's dropped or whatever. Weird but understandable, I guess.

My friend then asked how much the dog was. The sales girl said that she'd have to make an appointment to know the actual costs but it was a few thousand. So in my mathematical mind, a few is more than two but less than infinity. Right? Ha, ha!

Anyway, if you want teeny tiny dogs, you might check it out. I would not like to spend that kind of money...a few thousand...on a pet, especially a dainty one.

The dog was a cutie though!

Lost cat

I think we'll be able to find this feline pretty quickly with such a detailed description.

Are you serious, another Robin Hood movie?

How many times can Robin Hood be made? Apparently at least one more time.

You have got to be shitting me! I don't think Russell Crowe is going to give it any more justice than Kevin Costner did.

I guess this is what Hollywood does when it has put out so much crap...they remake stuff that was halfway decent.

I think this one was the best...who could deny liking such a cute, little red fox?

How much is that doggy in the window?

I don't understand why people bring their dogs to a tennis court when they can't bring them into the courts OR why they think this is of any enjoyment to the dogs. Now granted, they could run around the courts as long as they didn't affect the play but what really would be the point?

This is a picture of a guy's truck who "plays"* tennis at the same place I do. He used to have just one dog (you might be able to see its ear in the passenger-side window. It's a pit bull mix breed and is sweet as can be and seemingly decently behaved. He would bring her to the courts and she would stay along the fence line mainly lying down. She would switch sides every time he would switch (you know, on the odd numbered games like 1-0, 1-2, 2-3, etc.). Anyway, the one in the window is some Chihuahua mix. I thought it was funny, cute...cruel to see it standing on the seat.

The campus where we play put up signs "ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ALLOWED" on bright, laminated, florescent yellow paper. They posted four signs on the only two entry gates (2 per gate) and then another couple over each sitting area on the courts closest to the entry gates (only two). The reason for this is someone let their dog shit on the courts in a few different places. These weren't little dogs either because the shit piles were the size of a Chihuahua!

Anyway, this guy's dogs now spend anywhere from one hour to three hours in this little truck while their ignorant and thoughtless "master" hits the tennis ball. They bark and howl just wanting attention and to get out and run around but they can't. He does take them out when he's done and allows them to run around and stretch but for those hours they are stuck, yearning to be able to roam...something they could do in their home if they were left there. They aren't suffocating, yet, as it is the winter and they are probably just slightly cold. I may have to make a secret call to animal control or whoever if he maintains this m.o. in the summertime.

So, to all you dog owners out there, I will speak ill of you if you do this with your pets. I know you are afraid....vailwy, vailwy afraid!

Reptile on the loose

These are from back in October 1st. I just happened to be rummaging through my pictures while watching Drag Me To Hell.

I caught this mean little booger on my patio canopy. I was pretty fast but not fast enough. Once I got this little shit between mu fingers it was sort of hissing and it bit me a few times. My wife and kids weren't at the house during this time so I was going to keep it until they got home. I put it in a little Tupperware container for about an hour. The little shit was running around crazy trying to find a way out.

I decided to let it go but when I popped off the lid it kind of like sprung out and hit the kitchen floor running! It ran to the dining room and ran up the wall. I finally caught the little bastard...again...and was able to put him back on the canopy but not before I made his ass pose for a few pictures. Kermit he is not!

Cremation urns that look like your dead loved ones

Saw this over on the Boing Boing site. Why the hell would you want an urn that looks like the head of your deceased love one? It's just creepy.

It reminds me of when my mom asked one of my nieces to take pictures of my dad's funeral AND of my dad in the open casket. WTF?! Just freaking creepy!

This is worse than taxidermy but I bet taxidermy of humans is next and would just be even creepier.

Did I mention the word creepy, yet?

Vet visit

I'm at the vet and I completely agree that expressing my pet's anal glands is best left to the professionals!

Canine Country Club

I was doing a Google search for a local dog groomer — it does other things too but I just need the grooming — called Canine Country Club in Dallas.

I initially got ahead of myself and just typed in "canine country club." The top link was to Canine Country Club but not in Dallas. What I found interesting was they have a flash picture show of people and their pets and about three pictures in, this picture came up:

So, do you think this was accidental or subliminal advertising? Could she have not been in a night/t-shirt? It doesn't really bother me but got me thinking...briefly...and now I'm done.

In the news 07/17/2008

Found this in today's Dallas News online
On July 2, a 74-year-old woman reported finding her cat eviscerated near her home on Chesley Lane, near Skillman Street and Lovers Lane.

The animal, found in some grass near an alley, had been cut from under its chin down to its torso in a straight, smooth line as if a knife were used, according to a Dallas police report. Its ribcage had been broken, and its entrails were missing.

On Wednesday, a 24-year-old woman on the same street reported finding her cat dead in a neighbor’s front yard. It had been killed in a similar fashion.

Police are investigating.

Link to full story as long as it lasts, here.
My feelings? Good. Keep your damn cats on a leash or inside your house. Roaming dogs are not acceptable why are roaming cats?!

I am not a cat owner. I was once but not by choice. It was my wife's. I didn't totally dislike it but I prefer dogs as they are typically friendlier pets and they come when you call them.

I do have roaming cats in my yard (neighborhood) that I wish could be exterminated. I have an open lot next to my house and it isn't watered so there are dirt spots. On occasion, the dirt/mud spews onto my driveway after rain. These roving cats use these dirt spots as their own little shit receptacles. My kids and I play in the yard have to smell and sometimes accidentally step in the poop. It pisses me off like you would not believe. I too would gut the damn felines that did it OR even those that didn't if I couldn't find the one that did!

Hence, I have no pity for those people that "lose" their cats to some sicko-want-to-be-vet because they allow them to roam. I say, as long as he's not messing with people, more power to them!

Pets are like having extra kids

This is my bill from a vet visit four days before Christmas. I was getting the vehicle an oil change and an inspection when the wife called to tell me the dog still looks like she's not doing well. Earlier around 5-6am in the morning, the dog had puked in her cage...twice. She didn't feel like eating and she seemed very lethargic. Hell, by the size of her pukes, I would feel lethargic and not eat!

Anyway, the wife never had a dog before but has had children so you would think she wouldn't freak the hell out at a simple puking. You don't know my wife! So, while I'm waiting and waiting for the vehicle work to be completed so I can go play tennis (this IS a Saturday), the wife keeps calling me to give me a 5-min by 5-min status. It's really freaking annoying! Anyway, she gets the kids so worried as well that now I have to take her to the vet so soothe the kids -- and the g-ddam wife! There goes my damn tennis day...it was a pretty day too!

So, no insurance on pets and three hours later, this is my final tally for them to tell me the dog is fucking A-Ok. All her numbers came back just fine. They gave me anti-nausea pills to give to her before feeding her the iD dog food...a basic, bland food. They also gave her a shot of some solution that's like IV for humans. They put like a liquid bubble under her skin, between her shoulder blades that slowly dissolves into her system, making her feel better

Two days later the dog is running the hell around feeling just hunky dorry! I'm glad I got to spend so much time and money with her two days before.

A new edition to the family

We welcomed a new daughter to the family. My two children are ecstatic.

She's a miniature schnauzer with a silvery white coat. She's only six weeks old and cute as a button.
