Fear the Walking Dead

I've been bingeing Fear the Walking Dead through my Hulu account. I've always tried to watch it, mainly for comparison sake to The Walking Dead, but AMC doesn't give the easiest or most convenient way or way at all to watch older seasons. Not even with their 'convenient' app or via their website. Anyway...

There are similarities between the two. Most specifically: stupid writing.

I mean we won't go into the whole "How did the military, police, etc. get overrun with all their fire power?" We have to move on from that for the enjoyment of the show. I mean it's still plausible that the military could have lost because of not understanding the "sickness" but this isn't the post for that discussion.

I'm really just going to say that the show is okay if not good...enough for now, like the original was. However, somewhere along the way the writers started creating these stupid scenes and story lines. At the stage of the series I'm currently watching (season 4), most of the characters still alive are fairly well versed on how to handle the walking dead. But for some reason they end up doing some stupid things or get in some stupid situations or just...STUPID!

So, I guess that's about all I will write about this. If you have the want or time to watch it, you probably won't hate it. It is interesting at times and at others it is downright ludicrous and frustrating. Luckily for me, I watch it while multitasking. I still pay attention but I am also able to keep 'entertained' during the lull or terrible scenes when necessary.

Going Deep with David Rees

I was channel surfing a week or so ago and came across this show: Going Deep with David Rees. I didn't know the name of the show at the time. What caught my attention was that this guy is supposed to show people things a "new light." However, what he showed me is that he's kind of an idiot. The stupidity is said at around 6 seconds on the video. Let's see if others realize his mistake!

That's all I got to say about that!

The official 'do of the Fort Worth P.D.

Saw this on the news channel this evening. I don't remember what the news story was about —— oh wait, it was about two brothers that run a funeral home, were ordered to shut down for some reason by the city and then the city found dead bodies in the funeral home that were NEVER buried. I think those brothers are going to do some time!

Anyway, the policewoman has a pretty cool 'do...although I'd wonder if it's an unnecessary risk when she cuffing and scuffing someone.

Royal Pains versus Rush

I don't understand why the USA Network would create a show that looks to have the same exact premise as another successful show already on the network.

I've been seeing a commercial for Rush which, as mentioned, looks EXACTLY like Royal Pains. The Royal Pains doc caters to the rich people of the Hamptons. The Rush doc caters to "LA's elite."

See the similarities? I'm not sure they'll change too much between the two shows although Pains seems more of a dramedy compared to just drama.

I watched a few episodes of Royal Pains and thought it was good and funny. I didn't get to watch much more because I got too busy with life. However, if I wanted to watch one of these shows, I think I'd go back with Royal Pains. Who am I kidding? I might have enough time to watch both shows if I ever have enough time.

Alexandra Daddario

Just the other (or a couple of weeks ago), I watched Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters. A few times I saw Alexandra Daddario talking, walking and running when I thought to myself, "DAMN! She's got some pretty big boobs." Part of the interest could not help but be peaked because of the straining button that was just barely restraining her ginormous breasts throughout 90% of the movie. I wouldn't say that she's drop-dead gorgeous but I would say she's pretty attractive. It doesn't hurt to have a pretty rocking body with naturally huge breasts. See the GIF below that I found from a Google search.

So, I type this today because my hopes and wants were answered. She apparently has a pretty nice nude scene in the HBO series True Detective. I haven't seen the series as I don't have HBO but if Alexandra's going to be dropping trough more often, I will make a point to watch using my buddy's HBOGO account.

Morena Baccarin

This is Morena Baccarin from Homeland.

That's all you need to know.

Okay, not really.

I've just now started watching this series via my AT&T Uverse OnDemand and/or Netflix. I think I'm around episode eight or nine in season two.

It's a good show although occasionally far-fetched in some situations. I mean it's good enough to keep my attention so I'll watch it until the end.

Will I continue to watch Sons of Anarchy?

I finally watched the season finale of SOA. No way can you make me believe that a drunk, high, 50-60 yr old woman who had heart surgery a season or two ago can overpower a sober, healthy, not-so-frail, mid-20-30 yr old woman. I liked this show much better in season one or two. Now it's gotten ridiculous, predictable and not so entertaining.

It's all this backstabbing and screwing around they do to each other. They find out. They hate for an episode or four and then they are trustworthy of each other again. It's not common sense or realistic! And yes I know it's a TV show!

I just can't believe that Jax would trust Gemma after all she's done to him, Tara and his father. I can't believe that Gemma would trust Wendy after all she's done to Jax and Abel.

Also, in this episode, I sort of get why Juice did what he did in covering for Gemma but he's still going to get his! He's on the "the-club-can't-trust-you" list which means he's probably got just a few more episodes in him. I'm sure this is his way of "getting back" at Jax for his ultimate demise whenever it may come.

Anyway, that's all I want to share about my building dislike of the Sons of Anarchy television show.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives - a visit to Dallas

Saw an episode (probably old) of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives the other day with the burger joint Maple & Motor as one of the restaurants Guy Fieri visited. Normally, they present multiple items from the menu for the show that impress customers. They only had Jack (M&M owner) cook up one burger—a bacon cheeseburger with fresh green jalapenos.

First, Guy misquoted M&M as the best burger in Dallas. I think that's limited to certain people or an article that was written by one person and with that one person's opinion.

Second, Guy wasn't as complementary of the burger as he is with other restaurant entrees in MANY other episodes I've seen.

Third, unimpressed, Guy cooks/creates his own burger concoction during which it looks like Jack at times isn't happy with because of all the ingredients Guy's using. Which begs to wonder how much did Guy really like the burger Jack cooked if he ended up creating his own? Again, I've never seen Guy do this (cook his own item) on any of the other episodes!

I've been to M&M two or three times because a coworker of mine was initially impressed by the burger. The 2nd or 3rd time finally woke her up to realizing it's not really any better than many other places in Dallas that are closer to our work, have a more inviting seating area and don't have an arrogant, asshole owner!

Don't get me wrong. The burgers I've had there are good. However, it definitely is not "the best burgers in Dallas." As I mentioned, Jack's an arrogant arse and his rules are juvenile (think of the mentality of if you don't like it then go somewhere else). I also was part of the many who "Like" the M&M Facebook page but have since "un-Liked" it. Many of Jack's "joking" posts about his workers and people in general does not go along with a manager, owner or someone who respects that his customers are the reason why he's in business...even the customers he doesn't like. Don't get me wrong. There are always asshat customers but asshat begats asshat quite often with Jack.

So, go and make your own opinion of Maple & Motor. Like I said, the burgers are good. But they are also good (and maybe even better) at Keller's, Jake's, Chili's, Twisted Root, Snuffer's and a whole lot of other places in the Dallas area.

Laura Prepon from "That '70s Show"

This is Laura Prepon. You'll probably know/remember her as Donna from That '70s Show. Just wanted to say, she's kind of hot...really kind of hot. She was always kind of plain Jane in the show but she was still always naturally pretty! Way too pretty for Eric Forman!

I tried to find out what else she did after That '70s Show but she hasn't really done much. I think a couple of made-for-TV shows and that's about it. Too bad. I'd like to see her drop the top for some upcoming movies so I can mark it off my boob bucket list. Ha!

C'mon Donna, do it!

Michael Strahan is Regis Philbin's replacement?

I don't watch "Live!" but I would not have thought a former football player would become the new co-host.

I guess it goes to show that if you don't try-out/audition (like Michael Strahan), you never know what could happen. You could end up having to sit next to the annoying Kelly Ripa if that's what you so desire.

Tricia Helfer

I recently saw a headline that had Tricia Helfer's name in it or maybe it was within the article. I can't remember which and it really has no point to the post other than it made me want to find out who this "celebrity" was. So, I Googled her.

She, like the actress Lauren Cohan in my previous post, looked familiar. Although most of the images showing at the top of the Google search reveal her long-term gig she previously had, I recognized her as playing Carla in USA Network's Burn Notice series. Briefly, she was Michael Weston's "handler" and I remember that she was kind of hot even though her character was very mean.

Her long-term gig was as Number Six in the remade Battlestar Galactica. She apparently has done a lot of voice overs for animated shows/movies.

I don't remember what the article was about. I really don't care at this point. All I can think/see is "Damn!" when I see the images that Google found.

Lauren Cohan

In my newly found down time since I'm no longer having to worry about getting class assignments done, I have been able to be more random in my daily activities. It could only get worse before it gets better, if it does at all.

Some things I have been able to do because of one of the best technologies called "Tivo" or DVR/PVR for those people who don't have an actual Tivo brand DVR/PVR. I was able to complete the past (2nd) season of The Walking Dead. There was this new character introduced named Maggie.

It's played by Lauren Cohan. There was something about her even though she played this country bumpkin. She has a natural prettiness.

Watching the each episode this season with her in it, I couldn't place it but I felt like I had seen her on some other show/movie before. After using my brain and Googling her (not the way I wanted to "google" her) and found out where I had seen her before.

She was Damon's hot vampire lover, Rose, in The Vampire Diaries!

Oh how I'd like to compel her... Ha!

Okay, so that's that!

Sara Jean Underwood

There has been quite a few posts referencing Sara Jean Underwood. Most of the time it's about her in the most scantily glad outfit she could find. Not a problem in my book but there are some haters out there...even some of them are male. WTF kind of males, I don't know but they are there. My thought is to just enjoy the hotness while it lasts. Reminds me a lot of when Megan Fox hit the "everything hotness" links on the Internet. Also, I'm sure the Attack of the Show program is loving her bringing viewers in even if it's just for her.

So, here's a link to today's images courtesy of Egotastic. These are for Men's Fitness Magazine. Funny thing is I don't consider her "fit" in the sense of what most people consider fit: tone, muscular, aerobic, etc., nor is she a man so WTF is she doing in Men's Fitness? Again, I'll enjoy the photos but anything else is just on the side of ridiculous.

I predict within the near future she will pose fully nude for free or for Playboy. I don't really care which. In fact, I'd be happy if someone hacked her phone because I know she has some self-shot nudes on it! Ha!

UPDATE: Well, shit! A quick search on Egotastic and I found these and these.

Spartacus: Vengeance (a Starz original series)

Spartacus: Vengeance. I just finished watching the final episode of this series and I feel empty. I feel like I want to continue the series now and not wait until whatever comes next!

Overall I think this chapter of the series was pretty good. I'm addicted to the complete series so far but sometimes I wish they were consistent with the "reality" of war. There were times where I was like "WTF?" and others when I was like "What BS!" A few things in particular irritated me.

First, I have no idea how Ashur is still alive after the first "Blood and Sand" since "Gods of the Arena" was technically a prequel. He was a sneaky, wounded weakling of the House of Batiatus' ludus in "Sand" and didn't do much fighting in or out of the colosseum during "Arena" as a gladiator or anything else. Then in "Vengeance," he become this force to be reckoned with in the art of fighting. How many times he had "almost died" moments and others when he was kicking ass and taking names of not only Roman soldiers but some of Spartacus' army. To that I say, "Bull-fucking-shit!" He's a mouse...keep him as such. [Spoiler alert!]: I'm glad Ashur finally got his head removed, literally, but it was too damn late to finally happen in episode 10.

Second, the consistency of how quickly someone is killed by a sword one time versus someone else another is lacking. I mean how many times have we seen Spartacus, Crixus or one of the other "free" slaves slice a Roman soldier through their armor through their gut and they are near dead or dead afterwards. But then certain characters last a little longer when the same style of slicing and dicing is used on them. For instance, Crixus was captured and was to fight for his life (and ultimate death) in the arena. He is sliced and looks like stabbed a few times where you think he is a goner but then Spartacus and his crew show up to rescue him. Crixus fights his way out of the arena on his own two feet...miraculously recovered/cured. There's another scene in episode 8 or 9 where there's this Egyptian hired hand working with the Romans who survives such a strike...twice. First, Oenomaus/Doctore is fighting the Egyptian and he slices and dices this guy pretty well. As he should, because he's a former gladiator and trainer of winning gladiators such as Gannicus, Crixus and Spartacus. All of a sudden the Egyptian fights back and stabs Oenomaus in the hand then follows through to push the knife to his eye. Oenomaus doesn't die but he is now wounded. A few weeks pass and we're in episode 10. The final all-out-attack on the Roman camp by Spartacus' army. Oenomaus and the Egyptian meet again. Oenomaus once again does well against the Egyptian. Some scenes later and the Egyptian impales Oenomaus in the gut with a sword. Gannicus rages. Gannicus slices the Egyptian in the abdomen, he's not wearing armor, and the Egyptian is still able to fight back strong enough. Again, this is not consistent with when they slice and dice the Roman soldiers through their armor and they are totally/mostly incapacitated. I'm just asking for some consistency.

Thirdly, more spoiler alerts: Mira is killed near the beginning of episode 10. She's impaled by a battle axe thrown by one of the Roman soldiers during a failed attempt by some not-so-smart members of Spartacus' merry men...and women. Before her death, she's learned to use a bow fairly well. The consistency falters when she can hit some guys in whatever place she choses in other scenes with no problem but then others she mishits in an arm or overshoots or some shit like that. She supposedly has fairly good eyesight because she's warned many of the army of people about to attack but somehow she missed the big, fucking battle axe that is thrown at Spartacus. Spartacus dodges out of the way just in time to see it impale Mira in the upper left chest to shoulder area. That's gotta suck!

Anyway, I obviously overlooked things like these because I watched the entire series and the other two. It's just, damn, I wish sometimes the content editors would do their freaking job!

For some reason, I feel like Liam McIntyre/Spartacus is not masculine/manly/battle-torn enough to come across as a true gladiator compared to Andy Whitfield/Spartacus. Maybe it's because Andy was first but who knows.

Anyhow, I recommend the series purely for the graphic nature of the storytelling.

Repo Games on Spike TV

While channel surfing, I saw a show advertised the other day called Repo Games on Spike TV. You can read the wiki here.

Without going into too much detail because you can click on the above links, the show is about two real-life repo men (pictured below) that go to repo vehicles but give the vehicle "owners" a chance to win their car back scott free if they answer 3 out of 5 trivia questions. From the one episode I watched, the questions aren't the hardest but the answers also aren't easily known to the type of dipshits that are getting their vehicles repossessed.

I thought the show looked interesting from the previews but when I watched an actual episode I felt like it was staged...very staged. Maybe the "contestants" truly are surprised, perplexed or whatever but I just got the feeling like I was being duped on the "reality" of it all. It is an interesting idea but I don't think it's going to last very long.

Before typing this, I did a Google for the show and it seems that it's more realistic than I thought or what is portrayed in the episodes (the one I saw anyway). An article here mentions how the cast was shot at while filming but it wasn't from the person whose vehicle they were repossessing.

I doubt that I will watch another episode as my TV-watching is already pretty full these days but I did give it a chance. That's just the way I am.

Victoria's Secret, Shantel VanSanten, Laura Vandervoort

Nothing really of substance to type. I was catching up on some email and TiVoed shows which made me think about writing about what I've read/seen. So...

The following is an ad that I got in my Yahoo email. I don't subscribe to Victoria's Secret. I have purchased a gift certificate in the local store in the past. Why I received it, I don't know but I wasn't and am not complaining. The advertising in this image is so fantastically appealing, and arousing, to me that I would love to purchase this lingerie for my wife.

Smallville is on its 10th and final season. I'm a big fan of Superman and this series had a lot of potential. The writers, producers and whoever just wrote too many tangents and never got to Clark Kent's potential of Superman soon enough or at all. I mean I know they wanted to see his growth and shit but to not have Clark know how to fly for ten seasons is just pure stupidity! I kept thinking the friends and fellow super heroes that knew Clark's secret would start chanting, "Think happy tawts! Like budderflies and berfdays!" Anyway, they've had some really hot girls star/guest star on this show. One of them that perked my interest was Kara, Kal-el's cousin and fellow Krypton destruction survivor played by Laura Vandervoort. She's aged somewhat since her first appearance (I think it maybe she lost some weight and looks more sunken in the face) but she's still freaking hot.

I also watch One Tree Hill (it's the teenage girl in me secretly coming out in my male adulthood) but I am tiring of this series too. I find that it has become too much like the lame revamping of 90210. They added a character a couple of seasons ago by the name of Quinn, played by Shantel VanSanten, who is Haley's older sister. They've gone off on some wild stories and stretches of the imagination with the story line but Quinn is still hot.

There's Jessy from Kyle XY

At least one of the main characters from the show has moved on to something...

Screen cap from the movie Thor.

Did I not say that they are glorifying teen pregnancy!?

Maybe not to the world, but I know I said it to the wife!

From a story here on The Superficial website.

That's all the time I've giving these stupid kids. Yes, they are stupid because they got knocked up in the first place. But...they must be smart because they turned that "mistake" into thousands of dollars in speaker fees or boob implants.

Guess, I should be encouraging people to farm out their teenage daughters for the 15-plus minutes of fame.

Stupid!

Charlie Sheen to be replaced by John Stamos?

Just saw a quick headline on my Google Reader from E! Online stating the following:
Sources: CBS Begins Courting John Stamos to Replace Charlie Sheen (for Real This Time!)

Click here for article while it lasts.
I'm not a regular of Two and a Half Men but the episodes and short clips I've seen are pretty freaking hilarious. I wish I had the time to invest in catching up and/or just watching a new show. I have a hard enough time watching the shit I want to watch as it is...the TiVo is screaming at me to get the shitloads of episodes watched!

What I've seen of the show does not make me think that John Stamos would be a welcome, needed, or good replacement or addition. I've never really like Stamos' acting. He spent too long a time with Full House and his "acting" on that show is the lasting impression I have of his abilities. In Never Too Young to Die, he had a different character than in Full House but he still wasn't that great. I think I've seen him on some evening TV show in the past year or so...quick IMDB search says it was ER and Glee. I wasn't impressed in what I saw of him on ER. I barely saw a full episode of him in Glee so I can't comment on it. I did like him in some made-for-TV-Lifetime-type movie but I don't recall what it was. I think he beat his wife or killed her and tried to kill another...you know, the typical Lifetime movie.

I think it comes down to Stamos does serious-with-personality way better than he does ANY comedy. And Two and a Half Men is 95% comedy...the other 5% is serious which becomes a lead in to the comedy.

Anyway, I really don't care either way. I'm not vested in watching 2 1/2 but for those that are, I really think it'll be very hard to replace Sheen's arrogance-with-comedy or comedy-with-arrogance role.

Actually, I think I put too much damn thought it such a quick read and post. :-)

Thundercats! Thundercats! Thundercats...HO!

Dude! I loved this show! I used to watch this growing up. I can't remember if I was 7 or 15 but it was something I watched on a weekly basis during Saturday Morning Cartoons...known now as Saturday Morning CRAP!

Anyway, I don't have a lot of time these days to begin with so all my excitement will be all for naught but it would be cool to see this again. I think Lion-O looks a little young compared to the original series but I don't know the story line behind this reboot. Also, Cheetara doesn't look as "refined" as she did in the original. She was portrayed more sophisticated and mature than the character looks in this new image. She looks too trashy and Kesha-like.

I know. I know. It's a freaking cartoon. Leave me alone!

Anyway, can't wait to see if it lives up to the original.
