Quotes or sayings

I'm not a huge sucker for "Confucious says" quotes but today I saw an interesting one. It wasn't particular motivating to me as it was more meaningful or scientific may be a better descriptor.

This was from an applicant from India who happens to write too many quotes in his essays but this one was at the start and, as mentioned, it caught my eye.

"Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air, but only for one second without hope."

It may not add to his overall application but I could see this being a signature line on someone's email.
