Plenty of time and yet not enough

I've been pretty busy these days with school, work, kids, and home life. I just haven't had much opportunity or designated time to type much...even in my personal journal (off-line). Yes, I am a male who types in an electronic "diary." My hope is some day my kids will read it and see what I had to go through (good and bad) and how I still was able to overcome adversity and enjoy the life I have been given. I type about things I do with the family and just things in general. It's long and occasionally goes days, weeks and even months before I type an entry. I fully mean to do a daily entry but something always comes up or my ADD kicks in and I end up not completing an entry - like I did the other day.

Anyway, last week Friday I took my first exam in my statistics course. I took off Thursday to study because I had hardly studied at all. I just haven't been motivated until crunch time which is about a day or two before. I took off that Thursday but didn't start studying until like 5 p.m. I'm a slacker, I know. I'm just sick and tired of school. It affects other aspect of my life like time with my wife and kids, time doing things I want to do, time from my TV-watching, or time to just fucking sit around and do JACK SHIT! I'm sticking with it though even with all the complaining because it would really suck to go this far and not finish. I'm hoping my misery will end within three years but we'll see how it goes.

On the subject of my first STAT exam, I took it and thought I did okay. I felt like I at least made around an 85 give or take a few points. I ended up making a 76. The class average was 73 so I did better than average. That's something positive, I guess. In fact, I really don't give a shit that I made a 76. That's a passing grade and that's all that matters to me. If I get a C+ or B to B-, I'll take it and run to the bank. This is the last class I need to take for the subset to get accepted into the business school. Once I'm done, I can take some funner more interesting classes...hopefully.

Anyway, I guess I typed a little more than I expected but I'm going to bed now. The morning comes early and having to let a kid (Pixie the puppy) out twice a night makes the sleep time not so enjoyable. Soon she'll be trained to hold it through the night but right now I'm expected to suffer. The morning comes and then I have work and then class and then work again. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays are my long days of work because I go to class for two hours during my work day so I have to stay an hour later for work to make up the time or just "look good for the bosses."

So, I'm outta here!

Another dumbass, making the state of Texas look bad

It cracks me up the way Rick P is just like George W in his responses...
"That's his position and it remains unchanged."
These arrogant fucks are going to bring about the fall of America.

It's so funny how we allow people to lead us that have the mentality of "it's my way or the highway" and "it's right because I said it was".

Will we ever learn?

In case the link expires to the story, it was about the governor's executive order this month [Feb 2007] that all Texas schoolgirls entering the sixth grade be vaccinated for HPV.

TiVo

My TiVo remote, which controls my TiVo - one of the best things ever created...after the VCR, the DVD burner, porn...okay, I guess it's just one of many really cool toys!

Not quite like the 'Burbs' but still

You know the movie, The 'Burbs with Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, blah, blah, blah?

Anyway, an Asian family just moved into the rental house next door to us. I'm not sure what kind of Asian they are such as Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, or what. They've been in the house for about a month. I haven't quite figured them out yet but I think the wife works while the husband stays home with their 3-yr-old (roughly) daughter and a recently (a month or so) born baby. Also, there are two elderly people which I think may be the grandparents — maternal or paternal, I know not which.

All this is besides the point that I was wanting to post. So, here it is...

They hang their meat outside. Last weekend I saw them hanging some huge steaks on a rope stretched from their garage to a tree but then they moved it to where they were hanging off the back of the house in some way. I think they didn't want the crows or squirrels to get to them. They left them out overnight and for like days to come. In fact, they are still hanging off the back of the house. I'm not sure if they are trying to make jerky or what but maybe we'll find out without actually prying into their lives and asking straight up..."What the hell are you doing with your meat!?"

I'm done!

Boogers

I'm sure it's been asked and answered but I had a thought while peeing at the urinal...

Can they get DNA from a booger?

They probably can but I was thinking more of the hard, dried booger versus a runny nasal mucus as the definition of a booger implies. I mean a booger to me is really all the dirt, dust and fibers in the air that the nose captures and packs into a nice little package for shipping (or discharging out of the nose). So, most of it is made from sources outside of the nasal passages.

I don't really care but it's just something that popped into my head because I had to pick my nose while peeing. That in turn made me think of the movie Gattaca and how if I unintentionally left a booger on the rim of the urinal or on the floor, they (who "they" are, I don't know) could suck it up in a miniature vacuum cleaner and find out who I was by my DNA...like they did with Ethan Hawke's character's eyelash.

Anyway, random I know!

Donald Trump versus Vince McMahon (sort of)

Like Trump the Frump is going to cut his locks. I think McMahon will be shaving his head because he's not afraid to be a real man...er, who used to fake wrestle...but is still a man...I think, anyway. All these matches are decided before they even come to blows in the ring. So, again, the Vince-meister will be shaving his 'do. This brings back visions of watching Saturday Night Wrestling with the Von Erichs in the WCCW on KTVT Channel 11 from 10pm-midnight back in the early 80s and the wrestlers having "hair" matches. Ah, the memories...

Anyway, here's the story and click on on the quote if you want to go to the actual page...which says the same thing as I've pasted here but whatever floats your boat.
Trump's Hair on the Line at Wrestlemania
Feb 19, 5:34 PM EST

The Associated Press

DETROIT -- Donald Trump is putting his hair where his mouth is.

Trump and World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon will pick a wrestler to represent them in the ring April at Wrestlemania 23 at Detroit's Ford Field on April 1.

If their pick is beaten in the "Battle of the Billionaires," the loser will get his head shaved after the match, the Detroit Free Press reported Monday.

The announcement of the match was made on a WWE television program that aired over the weekend.

Hip-Hop, the replacement term for Rap?

I was listening to some music today that was categorized as "Billboard's Top 100 Hip-Hop R-B Charts as of 2007/02/10". As could be assessed from the name, this is HIP-HOP and R&B music. I am listening to each track to see if I like it or not, and if I do, I add it to my MP3 player.

Some song names are as follows...there are more (like 50 total, I think) but you get the gist:

Rock Yo Hips - Crime Mob ft. Lil Scrappy
Can't Forget About You - Nas ft. Chrisette Michele
Smack That - Akon ft. Eminem
Get Me Bodied - Beyonce
Grew Up A Screw Up - Ludacris ft. Young Jeezy
06 Rap Up - Skillz
What You Are - Lionel Richie

Okay, so I'm sure everyone has heard "Smack That" and we could probably say that fits in the Hip-Hop category. Also, "What Your Are" by Lionel Richie is a sure thing for R&B although I'd call it maybe Pop as well.

But look at the names on "Rock Yo Hips" and "Grew Up A Screw Up." I don't think Nas, Ludacris or Young Jeezy were originally wanting to be known as Hip-Hop artists. In fact some other songs are sung by Trick Daddy, Chamillionaire, Lil Jon and The Game. Aren't these supposed to be rappers or some form of a rapper?

So, I'm assuming that Hip-Hop is the new name for Rap because I know they don't want to be under the R&B category.

Gratuitous flesh to promote the iPod

The name Marisa Miller doesn't ring a bell although I haven't had a chance to Google her (in more ways than one) but in time I'm sure I will.

Needless to say, if she came as an accessory I would have purchased an iPod over the Creative Zen Vision W.

Anyway, check out the gratuitous "fleshy" advertising...

It's been a while

Again, not that anyone in internet-land gives a shit, but it's been awhile. I've been pretty busy with work, school and the new puppy but I hope to get back on track typing about my-so-called-life. (I think that was a show on MTV?)

Anyway, here's to a step in the right direction for being a better blogger!

A new edition to the family

We welcomed a new daughter to the family. My two children are ecstatic.

She's a miniature schnauzer with a silvery white coat. She's only six weeks old and cute as a button.

Speaking of Nicole Eggert...

I've always had a thing for Nicole Eggert since I saw her on Charles in Charge. Then I couldn't believe the luck when I saw her (seriously) nude in Blown Away. The movie wasn't that great but who cares, Nicole was playing an extremely horny teenage girl that was naked at least five times throughout the movie. Good times! I know I'm a perv!

Here are some images from a magazine shoot she did that reminded me of her:

After seeing Nicole again, it made me think of the girl that played her sister in Charles in Charge. I always thought she was pretty and had potential for more but who would have known she had this much? Talk about someone wanting to break out of her shell! Can we say, 'Hot damn!'

Stan Lee's Lightspeed (2006)

I visited my local Blockbuster and rented the movie, Stan Lee's Lightspeed (2006). I figured that Stan Lee wouldn't make a shitty movie. I was wrong. It isn't horrible but it isn't what I expected from Stan Lee, especially after Spiderman and The Hulk.

I guess this wasn't as big as a budget and wasn't as much required for quality. I guess though, we deal with what we are given. Read a review here or link to the movie on IMDB here.

I thought we'd at least get a booby shot since Nicole Eggert is in it but I was wrong. It was a bloody movie but the gore wasn't interesting enough to make it anything above a passable movie.
