I was watching Top Gun for the one-millionth time the other night and I realized that Clarence Gilyard Jr, who played Sundown, later became very popular and well-known as Walker, Texas Ranger's sidekick, Trivette. He was so wimpy looking in Top Gun but he's buff and got some 'guns' in Walker.
In case you were wondering...Sundown is the guy, navigator - I guess, sitting behind Maverick a few scenes/days after Goose was killed. After their flight, Sundown confronts Maverick and Maverick grabs him and says, "I will take the shot when I'm damn good and ready to take the shot!" Or something to that affect.
