How to get a raise Hinojosa style

Follow the steps of Dr. Michael Hinojosa, Dallas ISD superintendent:
  1. Say you want to stay in your current position
  2. Say you are not looking for another job
  3. Interview for another job
  4. Other job says you are one of their top candidates
  5. Say you really aren't looking to move but this opportunity "just came up"
  6. Continue to say you'll stay while waiting to see if the other job offers you something
  7. Have your current employer panic and scramble to make offers to keep you
  8. Say you still aren't looking to leave
  9. Tentatively agree to contract extension aka "raise"
  10. Other job offers position to someone else
  11. Deny that you seeked out the job but it was an opportunity you couldn't "pass up"
  12. Say you can't wait to get back on track in your current job and you will mend the fences you burned in looking for another job
  13. Take the "raise" and continue to seek other opportunities as the "come up"
A man after my own heart. I don't blame him. I've done it. We've all done it. But it makes good gossip in Big D.
