More help on ways to apply for an MBA program

Just a quick jot...

  • We do not need every godforsaken certificate and/or award letter that you may have gotten from your job, some school club or what-the-fuck-ever! (This is mainly for internationals.) We are glad you are proud but we really don't need this useless information. All you are doing is wasting time and killing trees! What we do care about is your EARNED DEGREE(S) transcript(s) and that's fucking it! If you got a bachelor's of something and that's what it said, then OK. If you built the best damn popsicle cabin, who really cares but you and your parents!?

  • We don't care to see a certificate proving that you worked for the United Way or Red Cross or some entity like that. Put it on your resume and leave it at that. We will see it, read it and probably even mention it if you get a interview.

  • Select proper recommendation providers. We are looking for people (mainly managers) that can vouch for your work ethic, work experience, strengths and weaknesses, etc. A friend and/or coworker is not a qualified recommendation that can be unbiased. Duh!

  • Don't be a dipshit about transcripts. Official transcripts are UNOPENED and typically come directly from the school to the MBA admissions office. We don't want (although we can use for reviewing) a transcript you got after graduation and then you opened it. That's not official. Yes, it's an official document from the school but it's not official because it has been opened and possible tampering could have occurred. With technology today, someone could turn that 'D' into a 'B' quite simply. Yes, we don't trust you!

  • If you bomb the GMAT and haven't applied to a school, don't! Save yourself the embarrassment of people knowing how really stupid you are at taking tests. If you retake it and do much better, then the bombing doesn't seem so bad since we can see that you greatly improved. If you bombed again, you might look into a lower (very low) ranked school for applying to because you are not going to get in with anything below 630 or even higher as a base number. I here The University of Phoenix is very accepting as they don't require the GMAT. I'm not dogging "Phoenix" but I know it's not quite reputable yet with their MBA program although they are the leader in online colleges.
That's enough for now. I really should write all the other ideas I know I had while processing recent apps but I didn't. I just see a lot of really stupid prospect students doing really stupid things. It wasn't so bad in the past but the Milleninals* of today are a different breed.

*Explained here and best put here in regards to the "Trophy Kids"
